Tech Distribution recently conducted an Information Security workshop at the Tech Training Center on the 6th day of March 2009. The training was more focused on the introduction to Certified Ethical Hacker program which is provided by EC Council a vendor neutral certification provider. The workshop was a half day session presented by Mr. Sujith Wasantha a pioneer and an Information Security expert in the Sri Lankan IT arena.
The session covered the following topics and emphasized the potential information technology security threats.
1) Threats to Security
2) Performing a Risk Assessment
3) Hackers Technologies
4) Buffer Overflow Exploits
5) Firewalls
6) Denial of Service and Trojans
7) Security Policies
8) Educational Resources
